I decided to create this blog after reading through some wonderful old newspapers in the digital section of the National Library of New Zealand known as Papers Past.
I had such a great time reading the articles while looking for the appropriate ancestor that I thought it would be a great way to share a bit of the past.
I know that not everyone has the ability to read online digital images, either through eyesight issues or through internet access. So, I hope to be able to contribute in a small way to those who love their family history but are access restricted. And if you get the bug, just visit the website direct, and if you feel like transcribing articles for this blog drop me an email and we’ll see what we can do.
Please note: The articles are chosen by me, and may include advertisements (for those who have family in business), but are not complete issues in any form. For those concerned about copyright, you can see the National Library’s copyright policy here.

If you need to get a hold of me, you can email Ohwaily here.
